It saddens me to read all of these comments bc I thought them all as well. It was bad enough that Auston took that cross check but to watch nobody do anything is a repeat performance we have seen over and over and over.
You have to wonder what the attitude was in the dressing room after that game. Lots of guys with their head down feeling sorry for themselves. Even worse is it inside their head they know this is team that is going nowhere. We will support them but we all know this is a hot mess that will continue on for many years with this group.

And I must say that I’ve had it with Keefe. He is not the guy. Like has been said his answer to playing bad is either switch Willy and Marner or have Willy take Knies place on the first line. I've been done with Keefe since last season. I know his record looks great but some nights our offensive talent outscored the million defensive mistakes. Doesn't adjust well mid game. Doesn't discipline the right players. Picks out guys like Kampf and Gregor. But he is here at least until season end. Sick of him.

And then I was sure that at least it was going to overtime and a point at least was a given. Hard to take this one. I was thinking the exact same thing. Unfortunately nothing will change. Everyone will say the polite words afterwards about needing to work harder, etc. We'll get 10 goals tonight. let in 11 on Sammy. I'm frustrated and saddened. The fans deserve so much more.

If it’s Sammy in the nets tonight I fear this could be the end of him. We as fans have suffered more than we deserve. I too am frustrated and saddened Gerard. After tonight we go on a West Coast swing again against Edmonton, Vancouver & Winnipeg. All are very good teams. It could get worse real soon.

Colorado is a Stanley Cup winner and they showed why. Even without Byram they picked up their game. Leafs kind of forgot to play hockey on that 1st goal, trying to avoid giving up a long 2-man advantage but they got stupid and gave up an easy goal. Can't really blame any one player, if one guy makes a dumb play another player needs to be smart enough to fix it. That didn't happen, kudos to Colorado.
Their big guns play somewhat physical, notably MacKinnon, and that shows the rest of the team how to play. Leafs need to show that Vegak, Boston, Florida, Colorado, and other contenders aren't better than them. As much as Colorado won this game and Jones played well, Rielly stick-checked too often, the pushback in the top-6 wasn't there.
But I have no ill will towards Colorado, they play to win and enjoy it.

This is why the recent win streak didn't excite me. NOTHING has or will change. If we make playoffs (which I don't feel is a given) we are one and done. Not beating Florida I guess it's ok to cross check Auston. And yes I'm not impressed in the least with Bertuzzi. He is as tough as jello. Glad he is only on one year deal. Big waste of money. stugats1 what happen to Auston Matthews and the leafs response is an absolutely disgrace. If that happened in Tampa you would seen all 5 of the Lightning players collectively jump Josh Manson. However we’re talking the leafs and all the happens is Mitch Marner comes over and talks to Mason. PATHETIC!

Sorry I wasn't here yesterday to help. We had an ice storm yesterday and no power most of the day. When we finally got our power back at 7:14pm my time, the temperature was 27d/-2.7c. Right now at 9am my time, ice is covering everything. Temp is 28d/-2.2c. Luckily, we don't get ice storms here very often.
I logged on late last night and merged the 2 game threads into 1 thread. I am not surprised they lost the game. I actually expected the loss. As far as Keefe benching the right players, I don't think management will allow him to bench them. Remember his call out and retraction? I think he got in trouble for that and told he had to retract.

Sorry about the storm and having no power. That is terribly inconvenient to say the least when it gets cold in the house.

I agree with that Pam, it’s a joint lack of effort within the entire management team, not just on Keefe, but he is the coach and should be doing a better job to get the boys to play hard every night. Does Shanahan still work for the Leafs, cause he’s been invisible? I think he hides behind Keefe and Trevling (Dubas) until he wants to fire someone….coward!

Teams win, teams lose, sometimes a few players make you win, sometimes it goes the other way. - 35˚C here most of the week, 6 days in a row.
