Here's what's odd to me. If Marchand injures a Leaf player not one guy goes after him. Someone viciously crosschecks Matthews and no Leaf lifts a finger in his defense. To be honest Tanev's hit on Lilligren was completely legit, nothing vicious about it. While I suppose it's good McCabe stepped in, it wasn't a play that actually called for it. After the Timmons hit from behind on him, Tanev was starting to be a pest hitting anything in sight. No, it was not a vicious hit on Liljegren, but I don’t have a problem with McCabe nipping it in the bud sooner than later. GO LEAFS!

Agreed Tanev was running round looking to start something someone had to send him a message to knock it off

Keefe has to separate Reilly and Brodie, Brodie brings Reilly’s game down. I don’t know how Keefe does not see that.

It was good to see Robertson score. I don't think the guy has a future with the Leafs and part of me thinks Treliving started him tonight to dangle him as trade bait. I will say Robertson has handled his situation well over the past couple years. He never complained and always said the right things.

Thanks Randys. Jim Ralph said it was a sneaky dirty move against Tanev. Hmm, that's surprising. Apparently Ralph hasn't seen a lot of dirty hits in his career if he thinks that was one. By the way, Keefe was really riding Marner and Matthews in the 2nd and I don't blame him. The second line is invisible so far.

I think Keefe should give Robertson another crack with Matthews and Marner. Knies works hard, but he just doesn’t seem to gel on the 1st line. I would like to see him with Willie and JT instead. Bertuzzi on the 3rd line.

Never in my life have I seen a team that can’t clear the dzone, it’s unbelievable!
Way to go Jake!!! Big win for Sammy, well deserved. Not many shots against, but there were some tough ones.

Good win for Sammy and the boys. Doesn’t get any easier.

Does anyone honestly feel a loss tonight and Keefe gets fired? I know a lot of fans (me) would be ok with that but does anyone think Treliving or Shanacrap would do it? They havent got the guts to do it but I wouldnt lose any sleep over it. They want everything nice and cozy and never want to 'rock the boat'. That is spot on Gerard. Keeping the status quo is the Leafs MO.

Well Keefe lives to see another day. Seemed like a good team defensive effort. I didn't watch so not sure, but it looked like they kept shots down. I'm happy for Samsonov.
Read how Reeves is upset. Now I'm not a big fan, nor did I want him. But fair is fair. He is still on ir bit Ryan says he has been healthy for awhile now despite what team says. So Leafs need to be honorable. Put him on waivers and send him down. No one will take him but if they are playing games with him it's obvious they know signing him was a mistake and he is not in their 3, yes 3 year plans. But give him a chance to move on or play for Marlies. No one will want to.come here if they hear how they treat some players

I have been wondering about Reaves recently. Its a shame if that story really is true. Management might've changed their idea for what his future is but you still have to respect the person.
Sammy wasn't tested very often last night, but the saves he made were huge and certainly highlight material.
Yes, it was 16 and 34 out there all third but they were very dominant. The second line is become a mess. JT struggles to compete and Bertuzzi is useless. Why he keep him up there is beyond me. Basically Willie and nobody else.
Yes, the fight certainly didn't come off a cheap hit but the fact that McCabe stepped up was good to see. Between him and Benoit they have been the most pleasant surprises on the back end.

JT was a beast in the FO circle as always. Possession is key. Yes he’s struggling for points but he’s the only Leaf I’d want taking a huge FO. I think he turns this around. That being said I’ll be glad to see his contract up if only to loosen up a bit of cap cash. Happy for Sammy but I’m far from thinking he’s ready to take the net back. Any timeline on Woll?

Sammy has played well for 2 games now so lets hope. Last I heard on Woll was about 2 weeks ago when he was practicing with coaches. (He looked pretty good.)

During the first intermission on sportsnet someone brought up having Travares play left wing with Matthews and Marner to get him out of his slump, which is an interesting idea, but who would play second line center, I’m assuming Nylander.

JT would have a very difficult time keeping up with the pace. Knies is inexperienced but at least he has young legs.
This might be a stupid idea but why couldnt Tavares take the draws but then assume winger duties afterwards on the rush? 88s gonna carry the puck anyway.
