When he gets going, what a talent Auston is. My word

And Matthews does it again. AM to the rescue with 3 straight goals.

Just need a solid 20 minutes of hockey for the win.

Ugly as usual. If we won ya knew it was either gonna be Auston or Willy.
Well 2 points was the goal

Matthews had them leading, then Flyers get 2 PPGs in last 8 or 9 minutes in the period to tie it 3-3. I was sitting here hoping for OT so they can get a much needed point. I expected the Leafs to lose in OT. Wow, the Leafs win in OT when the Flyers are better. I will gladly take the 2 points. Leafs win 2 straight when in reality they aren't the better team. They found a way.

I felt TO was bad in the 1st but like most talent devoid teams Philly couldn't take advantage, TO pretty much owned the 2nd, and the 3rd was mostly TO's but Mitch didn't appear to think that 3 goals wasn't enough for Austin so he snubbed his nose at outright scoring chances, more intent to pad Austin's stats. It appeared to me Mitch was hotdogging for Austin which was just as bad as what Greig did to get the Rielly suspension but this almost cost TO the game.
I was very impressed with how intent Torts has Philly playing, I'm thinking how good would TO be if Keefe could get that effort out of TO.
A player gets 3 goals in the previous game, that same player used his size, showed scoring ability that became evident because of extra icetime, what happens the next game, back on the 4th line, 10 min. of icetime, 6 hits, 1 SOG.
Holmberg who is a player that Keefe seems to like played 11 mins. of icetime, he threw 0 hits, had 0 SOGs and this he managed while playing with Willie and JT. I also see that Holmberg gets some PP time, McMann pretty much nothing even tho McMann has better offensive totals while playing 1.5 mins. per game less than Holmberg.
What does this remind me of, Marchment, Durzi and Moore becoming offensively relevant after being set free from TO, what's even more eerie, both Marchment and McMann who were not drafted may both be/could be having similar careers in that they might be showing latent talent that could only become evident after they are set free from TO.

Keefe may have a good record as the coach but he is awful at slotting players in the lineup. Like you said McMann has a hat trick last game and Keefe rewards him by relegating him to the 4th line. I’m sure that will certainly boost the kid’s confidence. Auston is such a talent. Just amazing. Stupid penalty by Bertuzzi almost cost us the game but Willy bailed him out. I can’t wait until they send Bertuzzi packing and are able to use that $5 million for someone who can actually put the puck in the net.

Also Bertuzzi looked ok with Domi line the other night. But nope Keefe puts him back for most part with jt.
One bright spot continues to be Benoit . He is a lot of what we have been missing. Steady defensive presence and very physical. Took on Deslauriers last night who is ss tough as they come.

The Leafs are caught in that horrible middle ground. Not good enough for a deep playoff run, but not bad enough to miss the playoffs and get a shot at the draft lottery.

Not a GM in the league that doesn’t think that anything could happen if their team just got in. And it’s true but rare. So there will be no sell off of UFA’s but I’m sure there will be a sell off of the future.

Benoit is the definition of a simple, no BS, stay at home dman. Him n McCabe look good together and I think their physicality rubs off a bit on others. McCabe seems to be in playoff mode. That needs to rub off on others too. Happy for last nights win but disappointed at how they give up the lead. Bertuzzi is quickly wearing thin on me. BT will hang on to him because of his small sample size of playoff success with the Bruins. I’d like to know why the Bruins didn’t re sign him?
