I wasn't able to watch game, but sounds like it was a great win. Domi had a couple the other night and Bertuzzi gets three last night. It would be huge if both those guys get on a roll down the stretch and into the playoffs.

An interesting goalie situation the Leafs have. No committed no. 1. Still looking for a clear no. 1 with the current no. 1 based simply on who is playing best at the time (and who is healthy!). During his current good streak Samsonov has been doing a better job of squaring up to the shooter, not overplaying things on his initial saves to the point where he’s in poor position for follow-up shots, and sliding across the crease while in his butterfly position without leaving a gaping five-hole. Let’s hope that he can keep it up.
Woll has certainly showed promise. He’s currently in an important period re. his development as a goalie so I hope he doesn’t miss too much of it due to injuries. I hope that he gets an uninterrupted opportunity to develop his full potential, whatever that turns out to be.
Will the Leafs have this situation sorted out by playoff time, especially assuming that Woll returns?

It’s nice to have options. Sammy still worries me at times. Big rebounds and sliding east/west to far sometimes. But bottom line is W’s so he’s been real good that way with his team working hard in front of him. Hopefully Tre can find a way to keep all 3 without losing Jones to waivers cause he would get scooped. Woll still a big ? mark but certainly very high potential. Leafs aren’t the only team with goalie worries. Just need one of 3 to get on a heater.

It's rare for a team that wins 7 in a row to deserve all of the wins and it's rare for a team to go on prolonged losing streaks and deserve to lose them all. Both the Domi and JT lines played poorly or more precisely had horrible possession stats so is what we're seeing now a forecast of playoff results?
The new lines have been working towards results and we've been treated to more and longer in game dominance, the team still needs help.

If I open an article and read his name at the top, that's usually where I stop reading and close the page.

Don’t know this Tanner guy but read the article. He questions Bert’s education which I found quite rude. That should have no bearing on him as a hockey player so if I see this guys name again I’ll just move on like the cap’n. I’m not a big analytics guy, in fact I pay no attention to them at all because I don’t understand what most of them mean. I’m sure they play a role in the game but just not for me.

James Tanner is a Joke, claims he is a leafs fan but he is any thing but. He is alway critical of the leafs, the last article I had the misfortune click on had him wanting the NHL to throw the book at Morgan Rielly for his hit on Ridley Greig claiming the Rielly acted like an angry child and if probably going to be suspended for the majority of the season.

Giordano practiced with the team today, and the Leafs recalled Woll from his conditioning stint with the Marlies.
These were the lines at practice today
Knies - Matthews - Marner Bertuzzi - Domi - Nylander McMann - Tavares - Robertson Holmberg - Kampf - Reaves Gregor
Brodie - McCabe Rielly - Benoit Giordano - Lagesson
Samsonov Woll
Liljegren was absent

Good to have Woll back in the fold. Prior to his injury I much preferred him over Sammy. Competition is good. Sammy is playing much better so am thinking Woll might get the Yotes Thursday?

What I wonder is how or who comes up with those stats, the 30%/43%, I assume he got these from somewhere credible, all he would need to do s regurgitate these stats, anything he says beyond that basically writes itself. His opinion is as valuable or as useless as any of us, myself excluded, of course.

I don't recall ever seeing a source cited, so to me they are made up stats.
