Don’t get me wrong, Keefe and Shanny will have to go. It’s the first thing ownership should do. I’ve been against firing Keefe but keeping him is not an option anymore. Will it help… I sure as hell hope so but Babs couldn’t do it, Dubas couldn’t do it, new assistant coaches couldn’t help do it, complete remake of team couldn’t do it so what will do it??? It’s the question I’ve asked myself since I was 11 in 67.🤦♂️🤦♂️ Same here. The first part I blamed on Ballard and rightfully so, but after that it got confusing. Twice the Leafs were almost, but not quite good enough. Just a player away I thought. Then they had a period of bad coaching and bad management. But since then, for some reason the Leafs have just struggled in the Salary Cap era. Dubas, being part of a new generation should have handled it better I thought.

Did I miss the first round? Reading these comments it's like game 82 and the first round have already been played and lost
The refs appeared to be trying to stop "message sending" but only by the Leafs. A lot of questionable calls when you watched the game and saw the same or worse infractions by the other colour jerseys too that went uncalled.
My biggest questions were the two interference calls. Yes, they were interference, but they were no worse than anything done at the other end of the ice by the team in the other colour.

You’re right cap’n. Lots of hockey left but if you didn’t think last nights game was disgusting to watch then I admire your optimism. Yes the penalties killed momentum and took ice time away from Matthews but Florida just plain ran the Leafs over and the Leafs went home licking their wounds like little puppies. Normally I’m over a loss by now but I am still seething at how hopeless they played. I can see the Bruins chuckling it up in the dressing room already, just drooling over this again.

The 2nd period was disgusting. Most of that was due to a penalty parade killing momentum. The Leafs let the Panthers roll over them, mainly because when they responded in kind, they were penalized. The refs drew a line that the Leafs couldn't cross, but the Panthers line was a moving arc. In a relatively meaningless game for the Leafs, they did well to get out of it uninjured. The Panthers had more on the line by choosing to play Tampa Bay when they saw the Bruins weren't playing well against Ottawa after the 1st period.
I hope the Panthers regret that choice.
I like the Bruins/Leafs match-up. There's a history to air out here.

ESPN+ has a replay section. They put this game in replay so I watched it this afternoon. After 1st period it looked like the Refs wanted the Leafs to lose, looked like the Leafs really didn't want to win. Playing like they didn't want to get injured. All rolled into one. Disgusting game. And they also hung Woll out to dry by their lack of play.
