Barely watched it. Went to Trivia night at pub. Glad I missed it. Not sure they could beat the Sharks in a 7 game series.

Season's over, now the second season starts. See if they remember how to win, get Gregor and Benoit their first playoff success, Tavares his 3rd series win, on and on.

Not gonna lie, I was surprised to see Nylander back on the ice after he skate over the puck without playing it for a whistle, headed for a line-change and then that player (unobstructed) makes one pass for a breakaway goal.
I would have sent him to the dressing room and told him he was done for the night after that BS.
The way the top-6 players tiptoed through the last 4 games, they better be prepared to work harder next game ... or else.
Further on Nylander, that play last night would've put him on my draft day trade radar before the new deal kicks in... uninterested to play, see how much interest he has on another team.

It was putrid. Outworked. Outhustled. Outplayed. The little push at the end doesn’t erase the fact that we got bulldozed by both Tampa and Florida. True the playoffs start now but going in on a 4 game losing streak doesn’t give me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

i'm not surprised at all. He does stupid stuff like that but that might've been the laziest play I've seen all year. At the very least he should've sat on the bench for the rest of the game, but that's what happens when the tail is wagging the dog. I agree I would definitely look at moving him and there would be a lot of takers. While you're at it, put the feelers out for Mitch as well. He's gonna want 12 million and not a penny less.

I missed the Nylander play but he was disinterested in the Florida game as well. He’s pouting about something. This team is everything you don’t want it to be at this time of year.
*Ok I saw the play with Nylander. That’s as lazy as you can get. I think somethings bugging the whole team. They don’t look the least bit confident. To me they’re falling apart at the worst possible time. Prove me wrong! I’ll gladly eat my words.

He’s probably pouting about being put on a line that he has to drive himself. I love Willy but if you are going to pout then go to another team and pout. Marner is the same way. They are very talented players but I want guys that think about the team before themselves. IMO that is our #1 problem.

I know this is nit-picking but when's the last time he's made a pass to 34 on the pp....i'll wait b/c it never happens. Pouting indeed.
I'd also LOVE to see the breakdown on his stats before/after signing his deal.

I saw that non play by Nylander too and thought what the heck. Nylander was scoring, assists, etc., before the new contract, but not so since signing the new one. If I was Keefe, I would be boiling mad at Nylander for his sh*tty play last night. Nylander and Marner are both talented, but one tries to make pretty plays too often and still seems immature, and the other one pulls the sh*t like last night. Marner has a NMC so he can't be traded without consent. Let him walk. He isn't worth his current salary and doesn't deserve a raise. Trade Nylander. They are both winey, sulky me me players. Replace them with players who want to play.

Well I do not like the way this team looks right now. Letting in buckets of goals by all 3 goalies. Hemmed in for eternity’s in the D zone, Peewee PP, players playing for themselves, 4th line that’s been the best 200’ line but hey what’s too worry about, right? New season, fresh slate, excited for the challenge blah blah blah. I’ll be surprised if they put up much of a fight.

I do not believe the last 4 games are any indication of what to expect on Saturday. The Bruins have been playing bad as well and lost to Ottawa the other night while also sitting some regulars. So, as you say, new season starts on Saturday.
As much I know it won't happen, I hope for the Leafs to surprise Boston as much as they surprised Ottawa in the playoffs all those years ago after the Sens swept the season series.

I hope so capn. I really do. I’ve got 2 close friends and a neighbor that are all big Bruins fans. It would be sweet to turn the tables on them for once. GO LEAFS GO!!!

Since we know we face the Bruins, the only important thing about this game is a Leafs win. Best of luck.
