If the boy that won the MVP wasn't as good as Steven Croteau, it's a shame the wrong boy got the MVP. And if it is true, it sounds like Politics and Preferencial treatment. BUT, that is NO reason to act like an ass and sue the Hockey Association. Some parents can be such asses. Suing the Hockey Association won't do anything but give everyone a headache, and maybe give hockey another black eye. It could be another case of a parent making a statement that his son never made a comment about. It could all be just the father and not the son. If it is just the father, I feel sorry for Steven because he will probably be embarassed by his father.

WTF is happening to our game?
This sounds like a hell bent father who hopes his son is going to show him to the promise land. I wish parents would let the kids play the game of hockey, not play the games in hockey.
Just because his son lead the league in scoring does not neccesarily mean he is the MVP, being an MVP in my books is a lot more than just scoring points. If that were the case Iginla should have been the Hart winner last year.
I swear people put way to much emphasis on the scoring race.

OM, as soon as I heard this story I thought of you. I thought that if this guy was in your town you'd have already thumped him. Now that winter's here and the season is flowing again, the minor hockey crap is almost as prevalent as the games. I'll probably not be around as steadily as before soon, as we got a huge contract at work and my schedule is about to go nuts. I do have some unbelieveable stories of crap that has happened already this year. I'll try to pass them on on weekends, and ask your opinions, so hopefully I'm not the one who is nuts.

That's one thing I do not enjoy w/ my son playing AAA. The parents (some of them) need to look at a video of how immature they act. All the usual comments regarding the refs and the other team. I tell my kid the same thing every game I have said since he was small: "Have fun." This is a game, right??

Agreed OM, I feel that all parents shoud be given the Speak Out Program. The fact that they are made to sign the Code of Conduct Pledge Form does really not mean anything to them, but maybe the people that are in power should take those contracts and charge a parent for Breech of Contract. Ummm sounds like a plan, that gets my wheels turning.....

Just because french-canada is passionate and has their own thing doesn't mean that had to happen!!

Having talked to you on ICQ for over 4 years, and having talked to TNG off and on, I do understand how you feel. Lots of times when this kind of thing comes to light, it was the parent saying something when the kid never said a word. I've noticed that lots of times the kids just take what happens but the parent wants it so they say their kid complained, when it was all the parent. Some parents can be such jerks.
