I don't know enought to talk to much over this stuff but it also seems the success of any new guy is also tied up in the hopefully-soon-to-be-Maple-Leafs. There are lots of talk about MANY potential players but I can't see us getting many unless we're prepared to overpay for them. Our situation is extremely grave and potential UFAs will be even leerier to head to TO given our early exit. We have prob. got the worst pr in the league after this year so i'm not getting my hopes up over the potentials.

We are not there yet, but to blow it up and start all over would be wrong. FW, I don't want the Leafs to blow up the team and start over. That would be a big mistake. All the team needs is to get rid of the deadwood and bring in the Defensemen that have been badly needed for the last 3 years, and a good winger for Mats.

I can't be optimistic Pam. Those are the exact same things we've been begging for for years yet Q has stubbornly gone on doing things his own way and tried to put round pegs/square holes. And now that he'll be back (along with his coaches) he's got no incentive to change. It'll take a whole new staff to make any real waves. Check back in a year.

Yeah, you're probably right, but I feel the need to be a little optimistic or I'll get depressed.
