The Caps traded for him. Id'a swapped a 7th for him but we've all known Quinn has lost interest. Depending on what they've got in mind the next few weeks this could be something they might regret.

www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=45956Flyers send Yushkevich to Capitals TSN.ca Staff 6/30/2001 The Philadelphia Flyers announced Monday that they have traded the rights to defenseman Dmitry Yushkevich to the Washington Capitals in exchange for a seventh round pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, according to General Manager Bob Clarke. Yushkevich is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Yushkevich, 31, recorded two goals and two assists for four points and eight penalty minutes in 18 regular season games for the Flyers this past season. He was acquired by the Flyers from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a fourth round pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and a seventh round pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft on March 1, 2003. Prior to joining the Flyers, Yushkevich had posted 10 points (1G,9A) and 38 penalty minutes in 65 games for the Kings and the Florida Panthers. He was traded by Florida to the Kings in exchange for Jaroslav Bednar and Andreas Lilja on November 26, 2002. In 786 career regular season games over 11 NHL seasons (1992-93 through 2002-03) with the Flyers, the Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida and Los Angeles, Yushkevich has registered 43 goals and 182 assists for 225 points and 659 penalty minutes. Over parts of four seasons with the Flyers (1992-93 through 1994-95 and 2002-03), Yushkevich recorded 17 goals and 63 assists for 80 points and 212 penalty minutes in 215 regular season games. He was originally drafted by the Flyers in the sixth round (122nd overall) of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft.

That's just Philly doing a end around to get something for him if he signs as UFA elsewhere. Similiar to the Cujo/Domi trades last year. If Yuskevich had a better agent he would have never been shipped out of Toronto. Gandler is poison !!!!!!

Yusky was a great warrior for T.O.
Now, he'd be lucky to be a 4th or 5th D-man!

Don't forget that Q was guilty as well for letting him go because of Gandler. Many times he's put the cart before the horse. The player is the important factor here. Not the agent.

I've always said that Gandler wasn't the only reason Quinn got rid of Yushkie. If Quinn is so anti Gandler and the problems he causes, then he never would have tried for Kasparitis since he also has Gandler as his agent.
I think if Yushkie was back in Toronto he would still be good. He might not be as good as in the past, but his heart would be in it and he would give it his all. I'm willing to be Yushkie would be better than some of the other DMen on the Leafs.
