Last night he said he wouldn't be surpised if he got the gm job back. He mentioned that Sather is doing both jobs again and that Leaf mgmt. will do their part in trying to find a new man but..........he also mentioned that it's only a year before the CBA becomes front page news and he could cert. hold down the fort should a new man not be found. UGH.

IMO, Quinn being the GM one more year, would be the best move for the team. No GM goes in and wins the cup his first year in. It takes at least a couple if not a few years of that GM working at it, to get the team to a point when they seriously challenge for the cup. That year, will be this year for Pat Quinn. However, if another GM is brought in, he could end up changing things, and its unlikely that a cup will come to Toronto. Unless of course we get a guy who just does everything Quinn wants anyway. In which case, whats the point?
To me, it makes much more sense to change GM's after this upcoming season. Many of our older guys will be gone to retirement, free agency etc. The younger players will then be coming up and we will be doing some form of rebuilding. This to me, is the best time to bring in a new GM.
Im hoping we find no one, and Quinner is our GM next season. If we want a cup, its the best way to go.
