Boy baseball cannot hold a candle to hockey in my eyes. I was given two box seats seven rows from the field just beyond firs base for the Sox/Twins game today at Fenway here in Boston. I would never pay to watch baseball here at least. Tickets are so pricy. These were $37 per ticket and there are other tickets that cost more.
But what a boring game. I hate the Red Sox almost as much as I hate the Bruins. Pedro Martinez pitched. although he is a great talent I cannot stand his constant whining about wanting more money, re-do my contract etc. What a prima dona. The Sox won 9-1 but me and my daughter left at 4-1. I could have taken a nap if it wasn't for the smell of hot dogs all around me.lol

LOL!!
I grew up an avid Dodgers fan. I was die-hard to the core. That's pretty rough on a girl/woman that lives in the heart of SF Giants territory. Man did I hate the Giants!! I would go to all the games in SF when the Dodgers were here. I detested the Giants so much, I would root for any team that played them, unless it was the Braves. In those series I would root for the Braves and Giants to kill each other and split the Series.
Once the kids were grown up and gone I found out how easy it was to get tickets to Dodgers games in LA, so I started traveling to LA one weekend a month for the entire season, every season for quite a few years to see the Dodgers there. Then attendance at live hockey games entered my life and I started drifting away from baseball because I found out how exciting hockey was.
Anyway, the last live game I ever attended was 1 game of a 3 game series weekend with the Dodgers and Giants in SF in June 1999. It just got too boring. Hockey is so exciting that baseball can't hold a candle to it. The most I can tolerate watching on TV is 2 innings, and that is pushing it. Recently the Dodgers and Giants played back to back series on back to back weekends. 1st series was in SF and the 2nd series was in LA. I didn't even watch 1 inning in either series.
Even though I only keep track of the Dodgers from Sports Reports, I still root for any team that plays the Giants (even though I'm not watching it) except the Braves. I still have the same feelings of them killing each other off and splitting the series. Once you detest a team as much as I detest the Giants, you can't change those feelings.
I'm a firm believer that if I had grown up with hockey instead of baseball, or if I had grown up with both hockey and baseball, I never would have been a baseball fan. Hockey is much more exciting a sport. I have a friend (Sharks fan), who both she and her husband (Rangers fan) were also Dodger fans. He offered me free tickets in good seating to Giants/Dodgers games here in SF. I passed the opportunity up because baseball is too boring to sit through now. I still keep track of how the Dodgers do every season because I still care about them, but it's just to boring to sit and watch, even live. I suppose if the Dodgers ever make the World Series again I'll watch it because I was a faithful Dodger fan for 40 years, but that's the only way they will get me to watch them again.

When i was in Texas this past week I listened to a local sports talk show on the radio. The local Texas guy was interviewing Frank Cantalano (or something like that) He now plays for the Blue Jays but used to be with the Texas Rangers. The guy was askng about living in TO now instead of Texas and how he liked it. Cantalano talked about how huge hockey is and how deprressed the whole city was when the Leafs were eliminated. He said no one cared about baseball during he Leafs playoff games.

No offense to Frank, but no one cares about baseball before the Leafs playoff run, or after the run either. the Jays suck. with that being said I do remember when they won 2 championships in a row, and now that lacrosse is over, I'll be watching a couple of games now and then. but sheesh. 3.5 hours MINIMUM for a baseball game? that's w/o extra innings. Heck that's overtime plus in hockey. never mind there's no hitting no fighting nothing. sheesh no wonder it can't sell in Canada. no hot guys and no fights. ;D

Dennis is okay but Joe is better. I always enjoyed the "holy mackinaw!!" Joe gets so excited!! It's great!!
