This is so Sad. Such a young life to lose. My prayers go to his family www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=46624&hubName=nhlTSN.ca Staff 7/7/2003 Former New York Rangers forward Roman Lyashenko was found dead in his hotel room while vacationing in Turkey over the weekend. Officials with the Russian hockey team Lokomotiv Yaroslavl say the 24 year old was found by hotel staff on Sunday morning. The cause of death is unknown at this time. Lyashenko played the majority of his career with the Dallas Stars, who drafted him 52nd overall in the 1997 NHL Draft. In 122 games, he tallied 12 goals and 21 points. He was traded to the New York Rangers in the 2001-02 season, but saw limited action. In 17 career games there, he tallied just two goals, spending the majority of last season with the Hartford Wolfpack.

24 years old. I cannot imagine the horror he must have been living with to take his own life. Life hasn't even begun at 24.

I know what you mean. If he did hang himself, he had to be in a depressed funk. It's sad a person that young gets into such a mindset no one picks up on it enough to get them help before they take their life. Such a young life to be lost, but the one's who will suffer are his family. They will have to live with this grief the rest of their lives. I can't even comprehend the grief of outliving my child. His mother must be devastated.

I heard a thing on the radio this morning where they were talking about the pressures of a person who doesn't have a consistent job and is sent up and down and not sure where they will be next. Although I don't agree with what he did, I can understand how he came to his decision and unless any other factors were involved his last few weeks must've been too much for him to bear, my condolences to his family.
