Yay!!! ;D I never thought I would see this day. I had actually given up on it ever happening. I am so glad they killed him. I know this doesn't end the terrorism with Al Qaeda, but it's ended the horrid person who attacked our country on our soil. Bin Laden killed his own people to. He was also responsible for bombings at the Consulates and in the UK. I started watching the coverage on CNN at 8:30pm last night and then switched to ABC because I like their reporters. I saw the celebrations at the White House, Times Square and Ground Zero. This finally gives closure to the people who lost husbands, wives, children in that attack on 9/11. I stayed home and watched coverage until 10:30pm but some in San Diego went into the streets and celebrated here too. The Seals who went in were trained here at Coronado.
Bush couldn't do it in 7+ years, but it only took Obama 2 years and 3 months to do it. I'll keep the rest of my political feelings about it to myself.

Great day worldwide. Never did figure out why George W switched his focus to Saddam and let Bin Laden get away. Regardless the world is a little bit safer today. One more shift and home Thurs.

Great day worldwide. Never did figure out why George W switched his focus to Saddam and let Bin Laden get away. Regardless the world is a little bit safer today. One more shift and home Thurs. Have a safe trip home. Yeah it helps taking the original head down. George W. and Saddam are part of the political comment I am not going to mention. I don't want to get into trouble with anyone because I don't know how everyone feels about George.

George W is/was/will always be a complete and utter buffoon! Cut dry short sweet and to the point....... It will be interesting to see what happens after OBL.............. Thank you Rusty!! ;D I needed someone else to open that door before I could say anything. Bush was an imbecile!! He vowed after 9/11 to take out Bin Laden. What does he do? 18 months later he created a fake war that has killed many Iraqis and many Soldiers. In 7 years and 3 months Bush couldn't find Bin Laden. Obama did it in 2 years and 3 months. That says volumes!! If Bush hadn't been such an idiot he could have taken out Bin Laden. I always wondered if Bush really wanted Bin Laden to stay free. He had more than enough time to do the same kind of thing Obama did. (I didn't vote for either Bush for President). Saddam needed to be removed in Iraq but there are better ways to do it than creating a fake war that has taken so many lives and has kept Soldiers there for 8 years.

GW should have taken some points from Daddy, although the other Bush son is not all there himself, remember the whole Vote thingy???
Husseiin was a bad guy, that is for sure, but for GWB to cook up BS tactics and march into another country (much like some other dictators have done in the past I might add....) and start bombing and house clearing is IMHO Inexcusable! And to drag the other countries into his little master mind plans with the whole "You're either with us or with the terrosits" arm twisting is something he should be sent to the world courts to pay..........
He above all others has really destabilized the world, especially in the Middle East, which has always been a hot spot!
Why did he not go after the Saudi's if memory serves me correct most of the terrorist on Sept 11 were from Saudi Arabia........oh that's right they have the keys to the oil, which is running out, so who is next in line to control the world oil......Russia............

Yeah I remember that whole Florida vote thing and I was really disgusted with it. IMO the whole family is missing brain cells.
As for the rest of your post. I totally, 100% agree with everything you said.
My comment when he announced he was going to Iraq to look for WMD, I said he was lying to us that I didn't believe Iraq had WMD. I also said he was just as bad as Hussein by starting the war in Iraq. He thought we were too stupid to figure all that out. He was the stupid one.
I'm really not a blood thirsty person and I really don't like murder, but sometimes in order to protect the entire population of our planet we have to do this. Bin Laden was a terrible monster, a rabid animal. We terminate rabid animals, so he had to be terminated. I guess I'm trying to say if there was any other way to make him pay for the remainder of his life (permanent solitary incarceration) I would have been okay with that, but this was the only way.

The problem with Bin Laden now is that he is going to be made a marder who took on the big boys, and having won that battle he is going to be worshipped in a way few people are.
He should have been incarcerated somewhere in the world much like that Nazi who was put in Spandau jail to live out his days, can't remember his name.

They said the reason they weighted him down and threw him in the ocean was so the Al-Qaeda couldn't make a martyr out of him. I think it's a case of "da*ned if they do, da*ned if they don't." I think stuck in the basement of permanent solitary confinement would have been a good way to go. He would have to suffer the rest of his life. Knowing he was suffering would have made me happy because it would be the best way for him to have paid for everything he did.

This operation is highly sensitive and I trust that the U.S. Army knew what was best to do.
I was talking to someone I know who is back in Afghanistan with the Canadian forces and man is it ever a mess there. He was telling me he figures that things will be back to square one once the forces leaves. He was telling me how well calculated missions are as the secret service helps the army out on operations. They help soldiers with missions and their own safety.
Don't get me wrong I'm glad he's gone and I'm not a warhawk type of guy for anyone who knows me...the bastard is that much hated in the western hemisphere however there's an emotional high in the U.S. that he is gone but this thing we call terrorism is not going to go away during all of our lifetimes and we have no seen the last terror attack in North American soil. I was surprised to see that 58% of the U.S. public wanted to see 'those photos' when you are playing russian roulette with other terror attacks if you do show those photos. (which is my opinion) What I'm saying is that I enjoy more seeing what I saw from the Nashville fans tonight by respecting their national anthem as they would every night.
What I'm pretty much saying is that this celebration will only turn into another tragic event eventually and we have no won any war on terror by simply stopping 'one of the many.' I hope no one takes this the wrong way but I think you all pretty much feel the same way.

TBO, don't worry, you're fine. We all feel the same away about that animal. I hated him to the core of my being for what he did to us on our soil, and it was a necessary evil to kill him. His kind of evil needs to be murdered, so I don't think about it.
They found plans he wanted to target our trains and he was planning something for 9/11 this year.
Al Qaeda has already said he really is dead and that they plan more attacks against us and our Allies. Terrorisim will never be gone. It's been around in some form almost since the beginning of time. It will never go away. We just have to wipe out each individual terrorist cell as they reveal themselves.
I've always thought both Iraq and Afghanistan would go back to what they were when our (Canadian and US) soldiers left. I've always thought they would be this decade's Vietnam. I hear about our U.S. Soldiers that are killed and then in Hockey season I hear about all your Soldiers killed when Don Cherry tells us. It breaks my heart. Sometimes I even cry when I hear Don Cherry because they are so young.

I guess they've named a new drink called the 'Bin Laden'....its two shots with a splash of water!!!
My opinion is somewhat different from the rest of yours. I think the face of terrorism took a big hit when they blew that a-hole away. Terrorism will always be with us but I don't think it will ever reach a 9-11 magnitude ever again. When you look at countries like Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Syria,Egypt, Yemen all trying to overthrow their tyrannical governments in order to have democracy and freedom like the rest of the western world. These countries are rife with fanatics and terrorists but if theur fellow countrymen want democracy then maybe they'll start acting against some of their own when they realize democracy and freedom cannot be acheived with terrorism threatening them every day. The US sent a very strong message...."You mess with us it might not be tomorrow, next year or ten years but we will hunt you down and make you pay"!!
