Figured I would share my recent exciting news with you folks.... My daughter is a High School Senior (don't know how that happened) She is a very good student and really does everything she can to get good grades Very unlike her father. She is usually up until well after midnight doing and re-doing homework. Took the SAT's 3 times... Always trying to better herself. So the getting into college process hs been crazy. We have visited some schools and she applied to 9.. Well she had to choose the one she wanted most as early decision. So last Thursday there were some very tense moments as she waited the email from the school.. She did receive it and was accepted to NYU which located in The Village in NYC.. I am an extremely proud father. She deserves what she wanted after all the time she has put in. She as well as her mom and I were thrilled. The tow of them cried with excitement. I told them my crying will come when the invoice is generated. Sorry to go on and on here folks but I am very proud and wanted to share.. Now when it is time for her to go to school next year I will be a mess a some of you know when your children move on..

Wow, cool, Jim!! You have a lot to be proud of. Please give my congratulations to Caitlin and that I wish her all the best at NYU. She's a really nice kid. I know she's not a kid, but at my age I can get away with saying kid. The years really fly don't they. I remember her as an 8 year old watching the Leafs games on TV with you and being there when we were in the Chat Room. Seems like yesterday. Yep, you are going to really miss her when she heads off to college. No more Saturdays with you watching the Leafs.

Congrats Stu....they grow up so fast. My daughter is now a journalist with the Metro newspaper in Calgary. So proud of both my kids. My son has fallen in luv with an Australian girl and is far away over there but hope to see them in April. Both claim to be Leaf fans after years of brainwashing.
Hard to watch them go but knowing they are pursuing their dreams makes it a little easier.

Congrats!!! What a great achievement for her and your whole family. It is sad when they leave for school and I admit I shed a few tears. But the kids are older now and my daughter has 2 wonderful little boys that I spend time with and spoil like crazy. Life goes on. I guess it’s what they call the Circle of Life. Enjoy the ride and all the achievements. Merry Christmas!! Go Leafs Go!

Wow, nothing like resurrecting an old thread. But I really just read through it for the first time and it’s interesting to see how kids back then moved on with their lives with college etc. And NYU is a very good university. So, just for kicks I thought I would mention where my son, who is now 52, went to college after high school and what he is doing now. LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a degree in business/accounting and then he got his masters degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida in tax law. He is now tax director for a large corporation that is headquartered in Amsterdam. My two grandsons, one graduating from West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia with a degree in finance. He will start his new job with J.P. Morgan Chase in Newark, Delaware after graduating in May. The youngest grandson who is 18, will graduate from high school this Spring and then attend Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. He will probably study business there and he was recruited by their baseball coach to play on their college baseball team. He plays the outfield. He also played football and wrestled in high school. He is a black belt in karate and also is a wonderful pianist. But his first love is baseball. Yes, no ice hockey down here in this area anyway for kids. Probably there is kids hockey in the bigger cities, I’m sure there is. Around here the fans are for Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Washington. Once in a while a Leafs fan emerges.
