I still don't understand how Paul Kariya makes it in there. He doesn't tick any of the boxes for me. He didn't score 500 goals, didn't play 1000 games and he didn't get 1000 points...although he did come pretty close to the last two (989 for both).

If you look at the HOF inductees, the only guys that didn't meet those benchmarks were either defensemen or players that had the individual awards that showed they dominated during their era (like Forsberg and Lindros). He doesn't have any of the individual awards either.

I don't get it.
