I read this article yesterday and almost posted it, but then I thought you guys might not care. Guess I should have followed my first thought.

We'll survive just fine without Mr Hunter. Thankful for his input but we move on.

For me what is interesting is all the speculation that he was going to follow Lou to the island and now he isn't even staying int he NHL. Kind of makes you wonder why he just didn;t stay on with the leafs doesn't it? (And yes, leafs news to discuss is hard to come by in August. lol)

(And yes, leafs news to discuss is hard to come by in August. lol) Yeah I have to agree with your comments about Hunter: About the Islanders, going back to the OHL, and not just staying with the Leafs in his current job(?). Do you think he was so pissed off at not getting the GM job that he just wanted to leave. Speculation in the media was he wanted to be an NHL GM and if he didn't get the job with the Leafs he would go hunting for a GM job with another NHL team. I know what you mean about August. I go into withdrawal by June. At least the Marlies helped my withdrawal in June. By July I am getting very hockey hungry. By August I am in deep withdrawal looking for anything hockey, including hockey movies with language so bad my hair curls (and which might curl your hair too). I am already hockey starved.

The whole thing stinks of a hissy fit to me. With Lou, everything was very public and very complimentary on both sides. With Mark, from what I saw, it was just a press release and then silence. But who knows what thee real story is behind the scenes.
