Anyone watch this? I get bored with the skills competition, but this was kinda a cool idea. It was fairly entertaining too.

I love the women's games with Team Canada and Team U.S.A. I'm stil without a TV but Sportsnet was nice enough to put their game on their website so I got to see that game today.

I haven't watched and all-star stuff in decades. I like games, but sideshows aren't of interest to me. Never been much of a circus fan.

Mokole, I don't watch the All Star games either. But I am a fan of Women's hockey, so if I did have a TV I would have watched only the Women's game. It wasn't a side show, it was a real game, two 10 minute periods. The NHL is trying to bring more attention Women's professional hockey. That's why our teams have been involved at the All Star game.
I've actually been at their live games. U.S. vs Canada Jan 1999 in San Jose, Feb 2000 in Toronto, Oct 2001 in San Jose (and U.S. vs China Dec 2001 in SJ). That was the last time they came out west, much to my dismay. For 2 decades I have wished there was a professional hockey league for the women so I could see them play again. (When I bought the NHL All Star game package through Road Trips - on a payment play - I only bought the Skills and the All Star game. When I saw women's U.S.A. and Canada game in the package I added that game to the package.)

I know many don't like the AS game and I dont care one way or another but I think it is a fabulous way to promote the game. Kids still have hockey heroes like we all did growing up. I did watch a lot of it this year and am still amazed at the skills of some of these players both men and women.
