A referee caught telling the truth

We all know they do it. The ole "even it up" call, or because a ref gets a bee in his bonnet about some player or other. I don't think anyone really believes referees are completely impartial at all times. 
Well a ref got accidentally caught, having the mic on as he told his cohort that he was looking to give Nashville a call. This isn't some little whisper caught in the background. Its front and center loud and blatent.

It will be interesting to see what the league does about this, if anything.

I've known for almost as long as I've watch televised games Refs were guilty of this. Some Refs (at least in the past) have even called uneven calls against a team due to being partial to one of the teams. I am sure the NHL has been aware of this but never has acted on it. I hope they do now that it has been caught out loud for everyone to hear.

As much as I like the decision it doesn't seem fair that he is taking one for the team so to speak. It kind of feels like he is getting fired more for forgetting to turn off his mike than for the real issue.

Like when I was a kid and knew there was no Santa but didn't want to believe it.. I knew this went on but was hoping they had more integrity.. Hope it is a wake up call for others.
