The worst thing about this game, they got 5 on Jones as well. Thats not good. Great and sad point. After that first shorty (breakaway or not) you just knew we were in for it. Both goalies stats were almost identical with save %s in the low .700s!!! Social media will lose its mind in the next 48 hours. What would they do without us?

Hey to anyone who had the misfortune of watching that game today against Buffalo you have my condolence's. I had family commitments and only saw the first period, but I was not confident about the outcome when I left. So sleep well leaf fans ( if you can ) there's another bottom dweller (Columbus) for the leafs to struggle against in two days time.

I normally agree with the idea to flush a bad loss and move on. But that's already been done this season. Time to analyze the tape, identify the rather obvious mistakes and make the necessary corrections. Saturday night needs to be a puck drop to final whistle, flat out, take no prisoners game plan. (play the game angry)
I can't tell if the players are playing for a new voice behind the bench or if they're just that selfish to hang two goalies in the wind like they did tonight.
I don't even remember which goal it was, 7 or 8, TJ Brodie was at the defensive blueline and his man in front of the net put the puck in. Badly and obvious, missed assignment.
If the coaching is the issue, remove him/them and move on. If the players are the issue, bench one or two, trade one or two, demote one or two, but make a change, to promote a change.
In a loss this bad there should have been push back. Hit just a little harder, push a little more after the whistle, dig a little more doggedly. No push, just a simple roll over and let them take another shot at the goalie.
Treliving needs to find the root problem and remove it in short order. This can't wait until the trade deadline or the all-star game.

As usual when it goes wrong, it really goes wrong. We can hope for another big third but dont hold your breath. Right now I would settle for Samsonov being put on waivers tomorrow. It would be a victory in itself. Samsonov needs to rebuild his game and it can't be done in practice or at the NHL level. He'll need to agree to a conditioning stint with the Marlies or the Growlers to work on his angles/timing/ everything.
Outside of Jack Campbell with Edmonton, this is probably the furthest I've seen a goalie fall off his game.

I think if he agreed to going to the AHL to work on his game, he'd need to clear waivers, TO doesn't have much else to replace him with.

As bad as goaltending has been there are so many more problems. Our offensive talent has outscored our problems now and then but the problems are there.
No discipline with or without the puck. Our system is terrible. I stand by my opinion that Keefe has done what he can but he is not the answer for this team.
I couldn't even watch post game comments as I'm tired of the canned lip service.
Lot of garbage on team but we all know due to salaries what can we do.
I'm done with Timmins. He is just awful. No more do I care he had a great pre season and then got hurt. He is right now notgood. not.impressed with Lagesson either.
Sorry for negativity again. It's the holidays. But I'm just so frustrated with this organization.
Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat.
Next up Columbus.. another bad team, another loss coming

Right now though, I'm sure if waivers were needed he wouldn't be claimed.
... and that would be correct that the Leafs have no option to replace Sammy. Martin Jones was the PlanB for a goalie injury, which occurred with Woll, they didn't make plans for Samsonov to crap the bed so badly.

Bad defense + bad goaltending = disaster. And that is just what we got. This team is flawed in a big way. They should be totally embarrassed. Samsonov is shot. Put him on waivers and if he gets claimed good riddance. If not then maybe he can work it out. He is of no use to them the way he is playing right now. Something needs to change. Time for Tre to earn his big bucks.

Right now any Marlie goalie couldn't be worse.

Right now any Marlie goalie couldn't be worse. I feel for Sammy I really do. He is just shot mentally. He admitted it in his postgame interview. But the fact is our defense is not good. Timmins is ok offensively but is a disaster in his own end, Brodie’s best days have come and gone. Liljegren is ok and at least McCabe takes the body but collectively this is a bad group. That certainly doesn’t help a struggling goaltender. It seems the thought process is wash, rinse, repeat. Typical. I don’t pretend to know what the answer is. That’s way above my pay grade. But I do know that changes need to be made.

Right now any Marlie goalie couldn't be worse. Jim yeah our defence is terrible but some of those goals (esp that first one minutes into the game) are absolute killers. I wish they had shown the faces of the guys on the bench. I will take Goldberg off the Mighty Ducks even before he got all the new gear. Unfortunately nothing will happen. We all know that. Management will play it soft and easy and everyone interviewed will say all the same things we hear every single time. That is the culture of this team and a big reason why we cannot win. Sad but true.

From TSN: The nine goals against were the most by Toronto since a 9-2 loss to Nashville on Nov. 18, 2014.
I just couldn't bring myself to say anything earlier. This was an embarrassing loss. I agree with what was said during intermission, send him to the AHL. And with what Frankie Corrado said, he shouldn't be allowed in net again, send him down.
