At first I thought no way they would move Brodie but it’s an intriguing possibility. Doubt it will happen but if Tre looking to find a top six winger maybe Brodie and Robertson might draw some interest. If they keep Brodie on the left side and maybe have him on 3rd pairing he could be useful. I wonder if Vatrano could be had from the Ducks? We definitely got bigger and hopefully tougher with the addition of Lyubushkin and Edmundson, but I am trying to figure out who will sit in the press box now? Reilly McCabe Liljegren Lyubushkin Brodie Gio/Benoit There is 7, where does Edmundson fit in to the lineup? Please don’t tell me Benoit is going to ride the pine, please! He’s been a really solid dman for us since playing consistently. Brodie should be odd man out imo. Trade him and Robertson for a forward.

Who would take Brodie? Just can’t see takers. Older, UFA, so so season. Won’t happen but good to have in a pinch. Keefe has some juggling to do over the stretch drive. If Tre could get it done I’d be impressed.

William Lagesson has been claimed off waivers by the Anaheim Ducks. I liked the way he played.

I'd rather Timmins been claimed but no one wants that crumb.

Leafs have lost plenty to the waiver wire. Many are still playing for the teams that claimed them. Another consequence of always having zero cap space. Hurts having very few picks left plus having to lose prospects for no return.🤦♂️ And despite the cap going up and JTs contract expiring Leafs have to pay Marner and probably some coming off ELC’s. I don’t see much change in the near future.

Nothing will change until Shanny goes. He has been a real bad hire in hindsight

I tried posting this a couple of hours ago. Just found out now it didn't take. I thought you guys might like a trade thread.
(Edit: This was the original post in this thread. Because I merged the Lagesson thread with this one, it moved my post here.)

Yeah if the Leafs get bounced first round and he doesn’t get fired then he must be bulletproof.

But I do understand your post.
Shanny still has to answer to higher ups, so I imagine Tannebaum still has a finger in the pie. Any trade the Leafs make is always at a premium. Look at the Tampa trade for Dumba and the ask from the Leafs was 3x that amount.

Let’s face it, the Leafs are tight on their cap, have been for quite a few seasons now. Treveling will not be able to improve this team until they are able to get rid of at least one of the $11 million dollar group, and it has to start with JT. Treveling did everything he could, without having the cap room, or the autonomy to move one of his 1st round picks. The moves he did make, hopefully make the Leafs tougher to play against.
I don’t care if the Bruins beat us every game this season, I like the way we match up with them, if we get them in the 1st round. The two 4-1 losses this week, were not as bad as the scoresheet showed imo. I think we are a better team, and I like how the boys played last night! We just need to be a bit smarter on when and how we get physical.
Go Leafs!

To me, it would be better if the players we have showed more drive and grit etc. on the ice. Does little to have guys who do that on the bench.

Yes, we threw hits but Boston finished their checks. That made a difference.

This Dewer will be a good addition if needed. Good PK and faceoff guy and throws hits. Good energy guy. Might push Kampf. With the East being so competitive this season I’m glad this is all Tre did. If the rich kids can’t get it done then whoever they may have brought in certainly couldn’t do it on their own either. We all know this team can beat anybody but over 7 games is a huge hurdle. Other Cup winners have had to pay their dues before winning the Cup. All we can hope is they get on a heater.
