Timmins made the play on the 3 on 1 where Holmberg scored. Didnt get an apple but went right to the puck carrier when he left the box and chipped it to the forwards. Smart play. When this team plays like it did last night they are a treat to watch. Yes the 3rd was dicey but not every man advantage situation can be stopped. I wouldn’t mind seeing Bertuzzi with Domi and Auston some more with Mitch n Willy centred by JT. Tavares was really good last night. He must know his window is closing on a ring. I wouldn’t argue with those 2 lines either, just that puts 3 left shots on 1st line, and Marner and Willie would be 2 right shots on the second line. Who plays which wings? Domi and Nylander could better adapt to their off wings, maybe?

I still think we play to weak on the PK, not enough pressure on the man with the puck. We give too much time for the opposition to make the plays. I just see the best pk’s in the league are pressuring the man with the puck to make quick decisions/passes. Put the heat on the puck and if it comes back to bite you in the ass occasionally, so be it. Instead, we play low in a box, and do nothing but screen goalie. Sammy does not see the puck through a screen as well as Woll does imo. Sammy did look very sharp last night through 2 periods. And you are correct Tman, you are not going to stop every PP, but we definitely have to be better than we’ve been, if we are going anywhere in the playoffs.

Maybe when Eddy n Boosh get more familiar the PK might improve. Wishful drinking?🍺
