Figured I would start this thread since I'll be at the game. Another possible trap game for the Leafs. It's a game they "should" win, but we know how our boys will often "no show" against bottom-dwellers. In an odd scheduling quirk, this is actually the first of a home-and-home with the Sharks. Both teams fly back to Toronto and play Tuesday. When is the last time you saw something like that (excluding playoffs of course) with two teams that are three time zones apart?

I can’t remember it happening but sometimes I don’t remember what happened yesterday. lol. Enjoy the game. The Sharks are bad defensively so I hope our boys light em up. Scream loud for us!

Alan, thanks for starting this game thread. I hope you come back after the game to give us your post game thoughts.
Of the California games, this is the biggie for me. I hated the Sharks. When I became a Leafs fan, back when the Leafs were in the Western Conference, I lived for the Leafs to destroy the Sharks. That didn't change when they moved to the Eastern Conference. To this day I always hope for this. The Sharks are truly bottom feeders at #32 in the League and have lost 9 straight games, and have only won 9 of the 38 games they have played. Unfortunately, in the old Western Conference days, most of the time the Sharks won, so I still live for revenge.

This team keeps teasing us with real good efforts and just when you think they’ve turned a corner, they 💩 the bed. I know we are all eager to see Hildeby but I’d still go with Jones Saturday if he’s good to go. Really think Keefe has to ride Jones until Woll gets healthy or Sammy gets his 💩 together (unlikely). I’m sure Hildeby gets in at some point but I’d spare him in only when absolutely needed. Just practicing and being backup will be a great experience.

I'm with you Craig. I also believe Jones should be in net for this game

As much as I’d like to see Hildeby in action I think the smart move is to start Jones again on Saturday. He’s in a nice groove right now and there are 3 days in between games. Like TMan said just practicing with the Leafs will give him some nhl experience. Better to ramp him up slowly.

There are reports that Brad Treliving has tried to acquire a 3rd string goalie from various teams. The report suggest the goalies Treliving has called on are Anton Forsberg (Ottawa) Eric Comrie (Buffalo) Jake Allen from the evil empire, oh sorry, from (Montreal) and Dan Vladar (Calgary). The report suggest Treliving was only offering a 6th round draft choice so unsurprisingly there were no takers.
People maybe critical of Treliving for only offering a 6th round pick but personally I’m ok with it, this potential goalie is only a stop gap measure and we don’t need to give up the farm and if it doesn’t happen it doesn’t happen so be it.

I agree finn. For all the dramas this team has had in net and with the D they are still in a decent position. Would any of these goalies that BT is after really provide more than what Sammy could even in his mental predicament? Signing Jones maybe he BT’s best and cheapest move. Another good move was taking Sammy on a 1 year deal. Benoit on a cheap deal has paid off. This team can win but for the life of me I can’t figure out why they don’t play consistently well. Woll should be close in 2-3 weeks. Now LN is putting a lot on the hopes that Woll is the real deal. I hope he is.

Okay, two games with the worst team in the NHL. Should be stress free hockey for Leaf fans for a change. Right?

I've never seen a penalty for handling the puck with the glove on a faceoff. Didn't even know that was a thing.
